The Molecular Lab at Chamarajanagar Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) in Chamarajanagar has successfully handled one lakh-plus swab tests using the RT-PCR method since May this year. Importantly, the lab also carried out tests of the samples sent from far-off districts, including Uttara Kannada, Davangere, Gadag, Ramanagaram, and Tumakuru.

Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has decided to reimburse the medical expenses of COVID-19 treatment of government employees and their family members, informed Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Thursday.
The order will be effective from September 2, 2020, he said.
As per a government resolution of 2005, the treatment cost of 27 illnesses and 5 serious illnesses, including heart and lung-related ailments are to be reimbursed for government officers, employees and their family members.
According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there are 68,476 active coronavirus cases in Maharashtra, 17,69,897 recoveries, and 48,434 deaths.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], December 18 (ANI): The Maharashtra government has decided to reimburse the medical expenses of COVID-19 treatment of government employees and their family members, informed Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Thursday.
The order will be effective from September 2, 2020, he said.

New Delhi [India], December 17 (ANI): India s COVID-19 count on Thursday edged closer to the 1-crore mark with 24,010 fresh cases reported in the last 24 hours.
As per the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total case tally now stands at 99,56,558.
Of them, 94,89,740 have already recovered with 33,291 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, taking the Recovery Rate to 95.31 per cent.
There are currently 3,22,366 active cases in the country, consisting of about 3.24 per cent of India s total positive cases.
As many as 355 fatalities were reported across the country in the last 24 hours, with 79.15 per cent of them being reported from 10 states and Union Territories.
