Nitish govt. says no plan to harm heritage Patna structure
The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) leaders, intellectuals and academicians of Patna have opposed ‘proposal’ of partial demolition of 130-year-old Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Public Library in Patna as part of construction of an elevated road.
The government, though, said there was no such plan to harm the heritage of the library.
On Saturday the CPI-ML legislators and leaders Sudama Prasad, Sandip Saurabh, Santosh Sahar, Kamlesh Sharma and Kumar Pravej visited Khuda Bakhsh library to take stock of the issue with library officials and public intellectuals.

New Delhi, April 8: Kashmirs entertainment-deprived population would have a sigh of relief as and when Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinhas government unfolds the J&K Film Policy-2021 anytime in the current month. Parallel to attracting producers and directors from across the country for shooting their films in the valley, it envisages revival of the entertainment industry at a large scale.
LG Sinha presided over a high level meeting in Jammu on Wednesday to review the proposed J&K Film Policy-2021. Most of the senior bureaucrats, including Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam, Financial Secretaries and Principal Secretaries, participated in the meeting.

Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday “emphasised the need to maintain civility of words and decency of language in public discourse” and said “it is necessary for a healthy and strong democracy”, a statement from the V-P’s Secretariat said.
Mr. Naidu addressed the closing ceremony of the 25-day ceremonial “Dandi march” organised by the Union Ministry of Culture to kick off 75 weeks of celebrations ahead of the 75th Independence Day next year.
Addressing the gathering at Dandi in Gujarat, Mr. Naidu urged everyone to take inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi.
