Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday (January 23) lashed out at some people, who were allegedly raising Jai Shri Ram slogans, and declined to speak at an event to celebrate Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose s birth anniversary
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also present at the Victoria Memorial today. There were roaring chants of Modi, Modi, Modi from the crowd as well, to which the Prime Minister waved back.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday questioned why India should have only one capital at Delhi and suggested that there should be four rotating capitals in different parts of the country. The Chief Minister made the proposal while addressing a gathering after participating in a road show to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kolkata to address ‘Parakram Diwas’ celebrations on January 23 to commemorate 125th birth anniversary year of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. This was confirmed by the Prime Minister’s Office. The PM will also visit Jerenga Pathar in Sivasagar, Assam to distribute 1.06 lakh land pattas/allotment certificates, the PMO said.The state unit of the BJP had earlier requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address a public meeting in Kolkata on January 23.
