In a bid to improve patrolling along the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh, the government has approved the building of 18 border patrol foot tracks in accordance with the proposal from a committee of Union Ministry of Home Affairs, reports
Economic Times.
The 18 border foot tracks will cover an area of 600 km and will be constructed at a cost of Rs 1,162 crore. This would enhance the patrolling capabilities of the Indian Army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and will also help in infrastructure development in inaccessible areas adjoining China.
State govt. recommendation for CBI probe
The Kerala High Court on Thursday asked the Union government and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take a decision on the State government recommendation for a CBI probe into the death of two minor girls at Walayar as expeditiously as possible.
When a petition filed by the mother of the two girls seeking a court-monitored investigation and a CBI probe into the death of her younger daughter came up for hearing, the Central government submitted that the files in this regard would have to go to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. Therefore, it needed time to ascertain the status of the file and inform the court about it.

The note, shared with a high-level committee consisting of 31 Parliamentarians, reveals that the changing pattern in the illegal trade is safer, compared to previous mediums used by the drug traffickers.

New Delhi, Feb 16 (IANS): The role of the Dark Net has been a major concern of India s drug law enforcement agencies with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) itself admitting in a secret note that the medium is being used increasingly here by drug traffickers.
The note, shared with a high-level committee consisting of 31 Parliamentarians, reveals that the changing pattern in the illegal trade is safer, compared to previous mediums used by the drug traffickers. The drug traffickers are increasingly using the Dark Net for trafficking in drugs. Dark Net medium offers complete anonymity because of the use of onion routing and use of crypto currency for payment, says the note accessed by IANS.
