Uttarakhand glacier burst: Two C-130J Super Hercules with three NDRF teams sent for rescue operations ANI | Updated: Feb 07, 2021 19:29 IST
New Delhi [India], February 7 (ANI): Two C-130J Super Hercules (military transport aircraft) with three companies of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and 15 tonnes of other loads and equipment were sent from Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad for rescue operations following the glacier burst in Uttarakhand, said defence officials on Sunday.
The officials said that the first C-130J has landed at the Jolly Grant airport near Dehradun and the second one would be landing soon.
Chamoli (Uttarakhand) [India], February 7 (ANI): The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) rescued all 16 people who were trapped in the tunnel near the Tapovan area following a glacier burst in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, the officials said on Sunday.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday spoke to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat over the Chamoli flood situation and assured all possible help to the state.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs is monitoring the situation after the water level in the Dhauliganga river increased suddenly following an avalanche near a power project at Raini village in the Tapovan area of Chamoli district on Sunday.
