Intermediaries will have to remove content containing nudity, sexual act or impersonation including morphed images, within 24 hours of receipt of complaints.
Intermediaries will have to appoint a grievance officer to deal with complaints, and this official has to acknowledge the complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days of receiving the complaint.
An intermediary, after receiving court or government order, should not host or publish any information that is prohibited in relation to the interest of the sovereignty of India and public order.
Two categories of social media intermediaries have been classified on the basis of user number - social media intermediaries and significant social media intermediaries.

Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, in an exclusive conversation with Zee News Editor-in-Chief, talks about the new OTT and social media guidelines. The Union Minister said that “double standards of social media will not be acceptable.”
Prasad said that some people misuse the freedom of expression and that is not acceptable. He also said that OTT platforms should have checks for their content. He reiterated that companies can earn money, but they should follow guidelines.

Raipur: Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel joined the group of Opposition leaders condemning the renaming of the Motera Cricket Stadium in Gujarat, the largest in the world, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The stadium was inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday in the presence of Union Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Shah.
