New Delhi [India], May 8 (ANI): India and the US have developed strong collaboration in the area of public health which extends to building and enhancing co-operation and support in the unprecedented times of COVID-19 pandemic, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said on Thursday.
An official release said Harsh Vardhan congratulated Becerra on assuming charge as Secretary of Health and Human Services and thanked his gesture to initiate communication to establish formal contact to work closely on bilateral cooperation and address global challenges faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This positive trait has a great relevance in a democratic polity such as India. There have been instances in the last seven decades when national interest reigned supreme over everything else as and when the need arose. All those aged above 18 began to register themselves on the CoWIN portal to get vaccinated against COVID-19 from 4 pm on Wednesday as the government gears up to launch the third phase of the vaccination drive from 1 May. The portal received an overwhelming response as it witnessed more than 80 lakh people registering themselves on the portal.
Although when the portal was on at 4 pm, many users complained of the site crashing due to load on the site. Lakhs took to social media to complain about the issue. Twitter even witnessed a lot of memes on the situation.

New Delhi [India], April 29 (ANI): Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Thursday said that within three hours of opening the registration for COVID-19 vaccines for people between ages 18-45 years, approximately 88 lakh people get themselves registered for vaccination.
The Union Health Minister during his visit to the Lady Hardinge Medical College in Delhi said, India has administered over 15 crore doses to the people above 45 years in age, healthcare workers and frontline workers. After two days the third phase of the COVID-19 vaccination will begin under which the people aged between 18-45 will be vaccinated.
