India fastest in world to reach one million vaccination mark

New Delhi, Jan 28 : India is the fastest country to reach the one million vaccination mark, the government said on Thursday, while also commending 11 states and Union Territories for the speed of their coverage.
More than 25 lakh (2.5 million) people, including healthcare workers, have been vaccinated in the last 13 days, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, noting that India crossed one million mark in merely six days, the fastest amongst all the countries.
The US had crossed the crucial milestone in 10 days, followed by Spain in 12 days, Israel in 14 days, the UK in 18 days, Italy in 19 days, Germany in 20 days, and the UAE in 27 days.

New Delhi [India], January 21 (ANI): To address the emerging issue of vaccine hesitancy in some sections of the population in the country, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr Harsh Vardhan, unveiled IEC posters on Thursday.
The world s largest immunisation exercise against COVID-19 was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 16, 2021, and according to official data, more than 8 lakh healthcare workers have been vaccinated till 7 am on January 21, 2021.
As per an official release, the Union Health Minister reminded everyone of the achievements of the country, the second-most populous country in the world.
