New Delhi, Jan 7 : Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has written to Maharashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal, urging them to take steps to curb the spike in coronavirus cases.
These states are reporting an upsurge in the number of daily new cases in the recent days, and comprise 59 per cent of the total active cases in the country. About 28.61 per cent cases are in Kerala, followed by 22.79 per cent in Maharashtra, 3.99 per cent in Chhattisgarh and 3.89 per cent in West Bengal.

On December 8, 2020, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan announced that the government had created a digital platform named CO-WIN for the purpose of vaccine distribution. Less than 24 hours later, a domain name https://co-win.co.in was registered offering the CO-WIN app to users, the only problem - it was not registered by the government but by a private group with shady history.

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan on Thursday wrote to Maharashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal, urging them to take steps to curb the spike in COVID-19 cases.
These States were reporting an upsurge in the number of daily new cases in the recent days, a release issued by the Health Ministry said.
The States have been advised to maintain a ‘strict vigil’ and take steps to keep a check on the rising cases, especially in view of the new strain of the virus being observed in certain countries and which has also been reported in a few States in India.
