Following an increase in Covid-19 infections, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan convened a high-level meeting on Saturday to counsel states and UTs on how to successfully implement the new Phase 3 vaccination plan. According to the centre, beginning May 1, all adults will be eligible for coronavirus vaccines under a “liberalised and accelerated” Phase 3 programme. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, sources told India Today TV.
Senior IAS officer Rajesh Bhushan was appointed as the new health secretary in July last year.
He replaced former health secretary Preeti Sudan last year during the first wave of the novel coronavirus.
Bhushan is a 1987 batch Bihar cadre officer.

NEW DELHI: From May 1, the types of anti-coronavirus vaccine and their prices will be displayed on the CoWIN portal for citizens to make an informed choice at the time of booking an appointment at a private vaccination centre.
While those aged 18 to 44 years will be eligible to receive vaccination on payment from any of the private Covid vaccination centres (CVCs), citizens below 45 years shall also be eligible to receive a jab from a government CVC in a state or Union Territory which decides to lower the minimum cut off age for eligibility.
The registration of citizens in the 18-44 age group will start on the CoWIN portal from April 28.
