MONROE, N.C. Officials with the Board of Education say they voted in an emergency meeting on Wednesday, December 30th to move all Union County Public Schools to Plan C starting January 4th.
School Board leaders say during this time they plan to assess coronavirus data that was reported over winter break.
After consulting with the Union County Health Department, staff suggested moving all schools and office buildings to Plan C from January 4th to January 8th, according to a news release.
Officials say Monday, January 4th is a Teacher Workday and schools will resume their normal class schedules remotely on Tuesday, January 5th, excluding Union County Early College students who will begin classes as scheduled on Monday, January 4th.
