RAHWAY – Jennea Workman s life was moving in the right direction, and she was happy.
Workman, 24, a licensed phlebotomist, had a job and a car, was in her first semester in nursing school and had just gotten her first apartment. She was definitely in a good space. When she got her apartment, she was so happy. She would get on her hands and knees and scrub her floor with a toothbrush in the corners. She definitely loved her apartment. She had pictures of everybody in her circle that she loved in her apartment, Workman s brother, Darius James, said. She loved being out on her own and she was definitely coming into her own. She was really on the path to be doing better things.

Man charged with killing 22-year-old found dead in apartment

A tenant of the downtown Elizabeth apartment building where a 22-year-old woman was killed last month was arrested Wednesday and charged with her murder, authorities announced Friday.
In addition to murder, Andrew Burr, 21, was also charged with two weapons-related offenses in connection with the death of Shaquin Ingram, according to a joint statement from the Elizabeth Police Department and the Union County Prosecutor’s Office.
Ingram was found in an apartment on the 10 block of Jacques Street around 1 a.m. on Jan. 4, the office said.
Police were called to the apartment to do a welfare check and found Ingram suffering from serious injuries, officials said. Investigators have not said how Ingram died.

When the unrecognizable body of Jeannette DePalma, 16, was found atop a steep, wooded hill that the locals called the Devil’s Teeth in 1972, rumors spread quickly that the Springfield girl was killed in some sort of satanic rite or witchcraft.
Police sources leaked to the press that they had found signs they thought might be related to the occult, including crosses made of sticks and branches arranged in a coffin-like outline around her body. The coroner’s report mentions a “rock formation surrounding the body.”

Following a year-long investigation, law enforcement arrested 20 people, dismantling a large-scale narcotics trafficking network spanning Hudson, Essex, Bergen, and Union Counties and New York City.
Officers seized more than 9,400 grams of fentanyl, over 3,400 grams of cocaine, over 1700 grams of methamphetamine, over 800 grams of fentanyl pills, about eight grams of heroin, a loaded gun, and $118,395.
