A bike that was pulled out of a canal by two rookie magnet fishers have managed to track down its owner. The father and son duo, who wanted to remain anonymous, decided to search for items in the Aylesbury stretch of the Grand Union Canal on Sunday, May 23 in their first-ever session. After nearly an hour of not finding anything by Bridges 17 and 18, the pair moved towards Bridge 19 where they found a locket with a devil’s face on, before the dad discovered a wheel at the back of the canal. A spokesman for Thames Valley Police s Major Crime Team said that investigations into the murder were continuing. The force attended a report of an assault on the Grand Union Canal near Broughton in Aylesbury at around 12.20pm on Monday. On attendance, a man was found with serious injuries. He tragically died at the scene despite efforts of officers and paramedics. Following a formal identification procedure today, the victim has been identified as Clive Porter, aged 63, from Tring, Hertfordshire. Additionally, a Home Office post mortem examination was carried out on Wednesday and the cause of death is currently pending. Two arrests have been made in connection with this investigation.
