The Delhi High Court Monday directed the Centre to take instructions on the communication by the AAP government to the Union Defence Minister requesting the help of the Army to set up hospitals with oxygenated and ICU beds to treat COVID-19 patients as well as supply cryogenic tanker for oxygen.
A bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli was informed by the Delhi government counsel that the Delhi Deputy Chief Minister has written a letter to Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday with its request for Army s help and it will take a day or two to fructify.

New Delhi [India], May 3 (ANI): Senior Advocate Rahul Mehra, appearing for the Delhi government, on Monday informed the Delhi High Court that Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia has written to Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for the assistance of Army to handle COVID-19.
Senior Advocate Mehra read the Delhi Government letter before the Delhi High Court.
He informed the court that the Delhi government wrote to the Minister for lending services of armed forces to set up and operationalise COVID facilities with about 10,000 oxygenated non-ICU beds and 1000 ICU beds.
