Zee News reported that the Centre is ready with a massive economic package to ensure peace, stability and development in the newly created Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sinha also shed light on the socio-economic and political changes being witnessed in J&K after the Centre scrapped Article 370 from the erstwhile state and converted it into a Union Territory.
“Jammu Kashmir is not only beautiful from nature’s point of view but the residents of J&K are also ‘extremely talented. Despite the immense potential, the people did not have access to the outside world. However, the winds of change are blowing in J&K and people have started to acknowledge that it is for their own betterment,” Sinha said in an interview with Zee News.

SRINAGAR: The Government on Wednesday informed that 250 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), 135 from Jammu division and 115 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 119053. Also, 03 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 01 from Jammu division and 02 from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 338 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 139 from Jammu Division and 199 from Kashmir Division.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 119053 positive cases, 3555 are Active Positive, 113645 have recovered and 1853 have died; 682 in Jammu division and 1171 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 3609605 test results available, 3490552 samples have been tested as negative till December 23, 2020.

Counting of votes for the first-ever District Development Council (DDC) elections, which concluded on December 19, began at 9 am on Tuesday at all district headquarters across the Union Territory amid tight security.
Section 144 has been imposed by the administration in Doda to maintain the law and order situation. Three-tier security arrangements have been made to ensure free fair and smooth counting of votes. Counting agents of different political parties reached the centres.
