New Delhi: Three people were killed in Gujarat as Cyclone Tauktae made landfall at 8.30 pm with 190 km per hour gusts that damaged houses and trees and forced people to flee. Six people were killed in Maharashtra as the storm swept past Mumbai on Monday.

AHMEDABAD: In a relief to people from lower income groups in Gujarat, the state government allowed them to use their Mukhyamantri Amrutam (MA) cards and MA- Vatsalya cards to avail free COVID-19 treatment up to Rs 50,000 at private hospitals.

AHMEDABAD: The number of coronavirus cases in Gujarat rose by 12,978 to 5,94,602 on Sunday, while the death toll increased by 153 and the recovery count by 11,146, an official said.
The number of people who have been discharged so far stands at 4,40,276, which is 74.05 per cent of the caseload, while the death toll is 7,508, he said.
There are 1,46,818 active cases in the state at present, including 722 on ventilator support. Ahmedabad district reported 4,744 new cases, followed by 1,883 in Surat, 735 in Vadodara, 707 in Jamnagar, 658 in Bhavnagar, and 528 in Rajkot. Ahmedabad also led with 27 deaths. Vadodara had 19 patients dying, while it was 15 in Rajkot and 13 in Surat, he said.
