JAMMU, May 2: Forty one more persons died of COVID-19 and 3571 tested positive in Jammu and Kashmir today. Jammu region recorded 28 deaths, 11 of them women, and 1150 cases.
Among the dead were a doctor, two women from New Delhi and Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), a Pharmacist of District Hospital Samba, an official of Railways Company hailing from Andhra Pradesh and a 26-year-old youth.
Another Judge of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, a KAS officer posted as Block Development Officer (BDO) at Bhagwa in Doda and three officials each from Crime Branch and State Bank of India (SBI) Head Office tested positive for COVID-19 in Jammu today. Few days back, a retired Judge of the High Court and his family were infected while prior to that another serving Judge had tested positive for the virus.

JAMMU, Apr 29: The deadline for apportionment of employees of erstwhile State between the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh is over but there is no headway on this vital exercise as a result of which Ladakh is facing immense difficulties in ensuring smooth functioning of administration.
Moreover, no mechanism has yet been put in place in Ladakh Union Territory for start of fresh recruitments for want of recommendations from the Apex Committee constituted by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
