SHARON, MA The Sharon School Committee has chosen a new superintendent of schools for the 2021-2022 school year.
Dr. Peter Botelho was chosen out of two finalists, who were deliberated at Wednesday evening s virtual Sharon School Committee meeting. We have a new superintendent for the 2021-2022 school year. Welcome Dr. Botelho! said the district in a Twitter post Thursday.

Botelho has served as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology Integration at Holliston Public Schools since 2017 and previously worked as Assistant Principal at Robert H. Adams Middle School in Holliston and Arthur D. Healey School in Somerville, as well as a humanities teacher within several other school districts in Massachusetts. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College, Harvard Graduate School of Education, and Boston

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. In November, WBIR 10News helped share the story of the Oak Ridge 85, the first Black students to integrate schools in the southeast in 1955.
For 65 years, their stories were largely unknown, but the secret in Scarboro stops here. Oak Ridge schools are in the process of adding the 85 s story to their curriculum.

In yet another expansion of a university’s professional development programming during the pandemic, Lehigh University will next month begin offering a new online graduate certificate through a partnership with Discovery Education, a company best known for its digital textbooks and educational resources for K-12 settings.
Lehigh, a private university with about 7,000 students in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, announced last month that it will offer the new online certificate, called “Technology Leadership in Global Education,” especially for educators working in international school systems. The university said the new course is hoped to help student educators “hone their instructional practice in the remote learning environment.”
