Cebu City Councilor Joel Garganera, EOC deputy chief implementer, said it would be hard to still follow the health protocols during the process of circumcision.
Garganera said most of the children will cry and shout during the operation which would result in the spread of the droplets in the particular area.
Citing existing studies, when a person shouts, the droplets can spread six feet and beyond.
He said it would also be hard for the one undertaking the circumcision to do the operation while wearing full personal protective equipment (PPE).

April 17, 2021 THE number of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in Cebu City has gone down in the last two weeks.
According to City Councilor Joel Garganera, deputy chief implementer of the City’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC), the decrease of Covid-19 cases during this period was the reason fewer recoveries were recorded in the last three days.
Based on the data of the Department of Health (DOH) 7, the city logged only 17 recoveries in the last three days, or 12 on April 14, four on April 15 and one on April 16.
The DOH 7 data showed that Cebu City recorded 893 Covid-19 cases from April 3 to April 16.
