No charges will be filed against a Sedgwick County sheriff’s deputy who was arrested after a domestic violence incident in April.
The 31-year-old deputy was arrested by Wichita police on April 13th for aggravated domestic battery, criminal threat and other charges. The allegations are the result of an incident involving an intimate partner who lives with the deputy.
After an investigation by Wichita police, the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office and the City of Wichita Prosecutor’s Office declined to file charges.
The deputy has returned to limited duty pending the outcome of an internal investigation, which is being conducted by the Professional Standards Unit of the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies who on restricted duty during an investigation will not have contact with the public.
