According to a news release, Lift, launch and levitate as you experiment with hands-on exhibits that make learning about gravity, friction, and the laws of motion fun. Ride a hovercraft to experience how air pressure works, adjust wind speed to form fabric into an airfoil, and float your sailboat to experiment with the effect of wind, rudder and sail positions.

AGN Media Senior Ambassadors Coalition Christmas Event On Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020, the Senior Ambassadors Coalition (SAC) held a drive by and drop off donations event at Central Church of Christ. According to a news release, baskets of personal care items were collected from generous donors, and the baskets were distributed to senior adult clients of Adult Protective Services. During the coalition s Christmas event, the Jim Holston Community Service Award was presented to Ken Branum in the Commons Room at Central Church of Christ, according to a news release.  Branum was honored for his 18 years of community service to senior adults. He has been involved with the Senior Ambassadors Coalition since 2005. He served on the Senior Ambassadors Coalition Board of Directors from 2010 through 2012, and he served as President of the SAC Board of Directors during 2011. 

Our Town: Amarillo Symphony to shift live season through 2021

AGN Media Amarillo Symphony to shift live season through 2021  The Amarillo Symphony has decided to proactively shift the January, February, March 2021 subscription concerts to September, October, November 2021, according to a news release. The live concert season will now run April, May, June, September, October, November 2021. Current subscribers will retain their tickets and seats in the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts through November 2021, at no additional cost. The Symphony announced that the orchestra will continue to be led by Maestro Jacomo Bairos until November 2021, when his tenure comes to an end.  “I think there is a silver lining to waiting a bit longer for live concerts and enjoying digital musical experiences in the meantime, said Executive Director Andrew Hay. The Panhandle community will hear more music in the coming months from this distinguished orchestra and conductor than at any point in the past 96 years of the Symphony’s existence.”
