Water restrictions lifted in Waco, McLennan County as systems are at less critical stage

MCLENNAN COUNTY, Texas Residents in McLennan County and Waco are now allowed to return to normal water usage as both the county and the city have lifted mandatory restrictions put in place due to water system damage caused by the winter storm.
McLennan County Judge Scott Felton and City of Waco Mayor Dillon Meek also lifted orders restricting water use at several commercial facilities Sunday evening.

WACO, TX â The City of Waco has officially named Dr. Sheryl Victorian as the next Waco Chief of Police.
Chief Victorian begins her appointment on March 15th.
She is Wacoâs first female and first Black police chief, the City of Waco said.
Victorian served for 27 years in the Houston Police Department, rising to the rank of Assistant Chief.
âThe search for a new chief took five months and included 43 applications from candidates in 17 states,â said City Manager Bradley Ford after recommending Victorian. âSherylâs depth of hands-on management experience, her educational background and her support for innovative programs all stood out.â Ford adds, âSheryl shared our communityâs vision for a leader who embraces continuous improvement, community policing and a commitment to serving and protecting all of our ci

Houston Police Assistant Chief Sheryl Victorian has been selected to lead the Waco Police Department, officials announced.
Waco City Manager Bradley Ford said his recommendation which must be approved by the Waco City Council next week came after a five-month search, with more than 40 applicants from 17 states.
LaShonda M. Malrey-Horne was selected as the new Director of Public Health Services at the Health District.

WACO, Texas The City of Waco and the Waco McLennan County Public Health District announced the selection of LaShonda M. Malrey-Horne as the new Director of Public Health Services at the Health District.
Malrey-Horne was selected from a large pool of applicants and was interviewed and unanimously approved by the McLennan County Public Health District Board made up of representatives from the participating cities in McLennan County, according to the Waco McLennan County Public Health District.
