On Saturday, May 1, at approximately 6:45 p.m., officers from the Caledon OPP, along with Caledon Fire and Emergency Services, responded to an industrial accident at a truck yard in the area of King Street and Airport Road in the Town of Caledon.
“A worker was pronounced deceased at the scene of the industrial accident after becoming trapped underneath a truck,” say Police.
The victim has been identified as Jaswant Sandhu, 35, of Toronto.
“Caledon OPP with the assistance of the Central Region Forensic Identification Unit and the Ministry of Labour continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.”

NEW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER APPOINTED
City council passed a resolution during Tuesday’s meeting to appoint Austin Dayment to the position of Municipal Law Enforcement Officer for the purpose of enforcing parking regulations under City of Timmins Parking Lots Bylaw 1973-96, Parking Lots Bylaw 2014-7474 and Accessible Parking Bylaw 2021- 8505.

CITY RENEW PAIR OF MEMBERSHIPS
A resolution was passed during Tuesday’s council meeting to approve the city’s membership in the Association of Municipalities of Ontario for 2021, at a fee of $13,483.18.
Council also approved 2021 memberships in the Municipal Employer Pension Centre of Ontario, at a cost of $3,690.02, and the Ontario Good Roads Association, in the amount of $2,436.44.
