BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) â U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers seized over 3,000 pounds of marijuana worth over $6 million in a 24-hour period at the Port of Buffalo.
Officials say on June 2 CBP officers assigned to the Lewiston Bridge selected a commercial shipment that was manifested as âpaperâ for additional examination. The examination revealed anomalies in the trailer. Vacuum-sealed packages were found inside boxes after a physical inspection and the contents field-tested positive for the properties of marijuana. 1,275 packages of marijuana were seized with an estimated street value of $2.8 million dollars.

The border is still closed between the United States and Canada, but there was certainly some action happening at The Peace Bridge.
Customs and Border Protection officers were able to seize a large amount of marijuana that someone was trying to bring across the border.
Officers selected a commercial shipment that was manifested as “empty plastic bottles” for additional examination. The truck was escorted to the dock and then searched by a canine which produced an alert on the cardboard boxes inside. That led to a physical inspection of the trailer where officers found vacuum sealed bags. The bags field-tested positive for the properties of marijuana and has an estimated street value of over $1.3 million dollars.

LEWISTON, N.Y (WKBW) â U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced officers at the Lewiston Cargo Facility seized 1070 pounds of marijuana worth around $2 million Monday.
CBP says officers selected a commercial shipment that was manifested as cardboard for additional examination and a canine search produced an alert on the pallets of cardboard.
A further physical search resulted in the seizure of 973 vacuum sealed packages of marijuana. Port of Buffalo officers continue to remain vigilant and enforcement-focused through these unprecedented times,â said Acting Buffalo Port Director Gaetano Cordone. âTheir efforts have again led to another impressive seizure, keeping dangerous narcotics out of our communities.â
