For a long time now, the Acting Permanent Secretary to the President (PSP Ag) Mme Emma Peloetletse has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Allegations against her and given her seniority in the public service are of such serious nature that failure to act against her is a slap on the integrity, values, vision and mission of the public service. The sum total brought by the allegations is that the public service has been brought into serious disrepute. Mma Peloetletse is alleged to have improperly benefitted from a trip sponsored by Directors of the controversial Capital Management Botswana (CMB) to the famous jazz festival held in the magnificent city of Cape Town (South Africa) in 2017.

Over 118,000 families assisted through $90 assistance program
More than 118,000 families were assisted through governments $90 cash payment program.
The total payout was $10.6 million.
The Acting Permanent Secretary for Economy Shiri Gounder says around 37,000 families were assisted in the Nadi/Lautoka containment area while 81,000 families were assisted in the Lami, Suva, Nasinu, Nausori containment area.
Gounder says they are also distributing food ration packs to families in isolation and cordoned off areas which is coordinated through the Ministry of Health.
He adds the next major distribution will start in the later part of the Suva and Nausori lockdown.

The forum was organized by the State Concerns Türkmengaz and Türkmennebit, the State Corporation Türkmengeologiýa and the Ministry of Finances and Economy of the country.
Representatives of the government structures, profile ministries and department, leading oil and gas, service and consulting companies, competent international organizations and financial structures, diplomatic and scientific circles as well as mass media were among the participants of the forum.
