CSTO closely follows developments in Armenia’s Syunik, to take measures if necessary
At a meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Permanent Council on Thursday, Permanent and Plenipotentiary Representative of Armenia to the CSTO Viktor Biyagov briefed about the incident on Armenia’s state border with Azerbaijan on May 12.
“According to the Armenian side, the armed forces of Azerbaijan crossed the border and advanced deep into the territory of Armenia for several kilometers,” Biyagov said.
CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas discussed the matter in a phone call with Acting Defense Minister of Armenia Vagharshak Harutyunyan and Acting Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian, the organization said in a statement.

Chief of the Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed, who is now visiting Zambia, paid courtesy calls with the Acting Defence Minister of Zambia, Commander of the Zambia Army and acting Commander of the Zambia Air Force, on Monday.
At first, General Aziz Ahmed called on with the Acting Defence Minister of Zambia Wezi Lukhele.
During the discussion at the Ministry of Defence, the military cooperation and relationship between the two countries were highlighted and Lukhele informed that Zambia is interested in cementing an improved relationship with Bangladesh and Bangladesh Army.

Two Royal Australian Navy ships, HMA Ships Anzac (III) and Sirius are conducting a two-month deployment throughout the Northeast Indian Ocean and Southeast Asia.
Led by HMAS Anzac, the task group will conduct a number of bilateral and multilateral activities including participating in Exercise La Perouse, a French-led multilateral maritime exercise in the Northeast Indian Ocean.
Acting Minister for Defence, Senator the Hon Marise Payne said the deployment is part of the Australian Defence Force’s robust and longstanding program of international engagements.
“We are strongly committed to our vital work with regional partners to address shared challenges, including our region’s maritime security,” Minister Payne said.
