Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says not all families in the Arcare Maidstone aged care home “had consented to a vaccination”.
“In the context of this Victorian outbreak, it does raise questions about some of the choices families are making here,” Mr Clennell said.
Victorian Acting Premier James Merlino said the state recorded five cases overnight and a further six since midnight with a “significant number of exposure sites” linked to the new infections.
He also said three new cases were linked to the aged care sector with two workers confirmed positive at the Arcare Maidstone aged care home.
A statement from the Arcare Maidstone aged care owner on Monday said “Arcare can confirm 53 of the 76 residents at Maidstone consented to receive the vaccine and have received one dose of the Pfizer vaccine”.
