The 2020 toy drive was sponsored by Pacific Media Group. All of the donated toys were distributed through Maui United Way’s nonprofit partner agencies and partners of the Friends of the Children’s Justice Center of Maui.

County Council collects toys for kids in need By Staff | Dec 17, 2020 WAILUKU Maui County Councilmembers and staff have collected donations for Maui United Way’s Holiday Toy Drive, with gifts going to kids receiving services from Maui United Way and Friends of the Children’s Justice Center, Chair Alice L. Lee said. Donations will be distributed locally throughout Maui County to bring holiday joy to kids affected by domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, low income or special needs, Lee said. According to Maui United Way’s website, last year’s Holiday Toy Drive provided 2,680 children with Christmas gifts, fulfilling all requests.

They were excited the whole week,” said Wailuku resident Jay-Dee Kuaana, who has custody of her 4-year-old niece, Kaley, and 5-year-old nephew, Kaptyn. “They respect the officers. This is just another good connection for them.”
