The India-Asia-Xpress (IAX) system connects India eastbound to Singapore and beyond, while the India-Europe-Xpress (IEX) system connects India westbound to the Middle East and Europe. The systems will seamlessly interconnect as well as connect to the world s top interexchange points and content hubs for extension of service globally. IAX and IEX will enhance the ability for consumer and enterprise users to access content and cloud services in and out of India.

Indian telecommunications giant Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd has announced its participation in the construction and deployment of two next generation cables to support what it calls the extraordinary growth in data demand across India.
"As a one-time gesture, Airtel will give the Rs 49 pack free of cost to over 55 million low income customers. The pack offers a talktime of Rs 38 and 100 MB data with a validity of 28 days," said the telco which has about 336 million subscribers as of December end quarter.
