Walking, riding, running and scootering to and from south Nambour is now much safer, smoother and more enjoyable after the completion of a new 1km stretch of elevated pathway alongside Nambour Connection Rd.
Sunshine Coast Council Division 10 Councillor David Law said the project was funded by Council’s Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) Program and included upgrades to the Erbacher Rd intersection, funded by the State Government.
“This project completes a missing pathway link and greatly improves safety on the route between Nambour Christian College, the Nambour town centre and residential areas,” Cr Law said.
“It also provides connectivity between residential populations from the western suburbs of Nambour and the Nambour town centre, schools, sports facilities and the business precinct.

Sunshine Coast Council’s very first Youth Council has been formed with the diverse group’s inaugural meeting kicking off this month (23 June) at Bokarina.
Fifteen members make up the Youth Council and come from many areas of the region, including Caloundra, Maroochydore, Buderim, Mapleton and Marcoola, while representing diverse interests such as mental health, human rights, justice and the environment.
Sunshine Coast Council Community Portfolio Councillor David Law said he was proud to see strong interest in the two-year program.
“The purpose of the Youth Council is to educate participants about local government and, importantly, provide an opportunity for its members to advocate for projects and issues that are meaningful for our region,” Cr Law said.

Nambour preacher, teacher, pastor, evangelist, prophet and author, Gerald Rowlands, 86, who shared the stage with some of the greats of Christianity, died at Easter, surrounded by his wife Elizabeth and family. More than 200 gathered at Flametree Baptist Church on Friday to farewell Pastor Rowlands whose ministry led thousands to the Christian faith, saw churches planted around the world as well and ministry schools established. Closer to home, he was pivotal in the establishment of Nambour Christian College.
