Islamabad:The concerned department has completed the process of 1,508 apartments/housing units possession and handed over to applicants under Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP).
These apartments and housing units have been handed over to applicants in collaboration with the Workers Welfare Fund (WWF). The information provided by Cabinet Division here, around 20,03,940 citizens applied for registration in Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) during Phase-I and II of registration, of which 17,99,533 became eligible.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has defended the ongoing crackdown against an alleged sugar mafia and said the country cannot progress until the powerful are brought to justice.
“Pakistan cannot progress without bringing the powerful to justice. Injustice breeds poverty,” Imran Khan said on Wednesday while addressing the media during his visit to Punjab’s Sargodha district.
The prime minister was responding to a question with regard to PTI’s former secretary general Jahangir Tareen, who is also among the sugar mills owners facing an Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) inquiry.

SARGODHA: Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Wednesday that sugar mill owners extracted Rs126 to Rs140 billion from the pockets of the people by increasing the price of sugar by Rs26 in one year.
Talking to the media after laying the foundation stone of low-cost housing units under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme here, the prime minister said: “The government’s job is to protect its people.”
He added that the government conducted an inquiry into the sugar scam through the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), which submitted a startling report showing how the mill owners and powerful people had minted money by increasing the price, evading tax, etc.
