Education and resources were the messages Monday evening from local officials regarding fentanyl use by youth in the community.
Officials with the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit, the Brockville police and both local English-speaking school boards spoke for an hour about the ongoing public health crisis in the area.

In the first half of the forum, officials spoke about the struggles facing youth in the area and what can be done to combat the crisis. The second half of the forum was a Q&A for attendees to ask wide-ranging questions.
Police warn users that these pills could lead to severe harm or even death.

Counterfeit pills that instead contain potentially deadly synthetic drugs are circulating in Winnipeg, police warned on Friday.
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service s guns and gangs unit recently received what police described as reliable information that a number of counterfeit alprazolam pills (a drug sold under the brand name Xanax) were found to contain fentanyl or other unknown synthetic drugs, a Friday news release said.
