Suburban Cook County and Chicago restaurants are likely to resume limited indoor service Saturday as key COVID-19 infection and hospitalization metrics in those areas continue to decline.
Illinois Department of Public Health records show the availability of intensive care unit beds in hospitals in both regions has stayed above 20% for longer than the required three days, and the average number of hospitalized patients has steadily declined for more than a week.

Through five days of searching for their beloved dog, Jennifer and Rich English saw their emotions swing an unbearable number of times between hope and hopelessness.
Miraculously, though, Daisy is back home thanks to community members who saw her on a road and the police and fire personnel who freed her when she became stuck inside a culvert pipe.
I felt like I had an anvil taken off my chest, Rich English said. Finding her again really felt like that.
After exhausting nearly every available avenue to find their 15-month-old Labrador retriever and exhausting themselves in the process the Sleepy Hollow couple finally got the news Sunday afternoon they d almost given up on hearing: Daisy was spotted after bolting several days earlier.

The St. Charles Park District may have to hold off on allowing a bunch of children at the same time into a new sensory garden and inclusive playground area until after the pandemic has subsided, but in the meantime it will still be a safe outdoor option with rules in place. As such, park district officials can look forward to this spring with a sense of excitement.
They ll have their calendars marked for Memorial Day weekend, targeting those days for a grand opening and ribbon cutting of the new sensory garden and inclusive playground currently under construction at Pottawatomie Park.

The final project of the Libertyville High School music production class is being called an album, but it wasn t created on vinyl. I wasn t sure what to call it since it s all digital and each track is by a different person, said music teacher Matthew Karnstedt.
The unnamed offering is a compilation of various interests and skills rather than a themed work. This class assignment won t be climbing the charts, but at $5, it s affordable, with all proceeds going to a good cause.

Loaves & Fishes Community Services has acquired an Aurora warehouse that will help the nonprofit revamp its strategy for delivering food and services.
The new 30,000-square-foot facility at 580 Exchange Court will serve as the organization s central hub, where food products will be received, stored, processed and distributed to what leaders are calling the spokes, CEO Mike Havala said.
