The Warrenville resident started an initiative called, A Decade of Kindness where he gives away live roses to people that make a difference, like essential workers and health care workers.

Registration is now open for the Association for Individual Development s first virtual Run, Walk & Roll 5K.
Beginning on Monday, May 10, participants will have two weeks to complete a virtual run, walk or roll and submit finish times.
All participants who register by Tuesday, April 20, will receive an official AID 5K T-shirt and medal and individuals who fundraise $100 or more will also receive a limited-edition graphic T-shirt.

The Kiwanis Club of Elgin has established a new endowed scholarship with the Elgin Community College Foundation that will distribute $400 or more annually to a student (or students) who demonstrates exceptional community service and/or involvement.
The new scholarship fund, entitled the Kiwanis Club of Elgin Memorial Scholarship will memorialize former club and community members who have made a significant impact on the Elgin area.
For 24 years, Marklund, a suburban nonprofit organization that serves children and adults with profound developmental disabilities, has hosted its "Top Hat Ball" as a live in-person fundraising event in Chicago. The COVID-19 pandemic caused a change in plans, but did not derail its success.
