Kohima Medical College expected to initiate Academic Year from 2022-23
The State Government is planning to apply for starting the Kohima Medical College from the academic year 2022-23 to the National Medical Commission.

Nagaland: After several impediments, Nagaland s first Medical College is set to initiate its first academic year from 2022-23, informed Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on February 18.
The CM informed this during the State Budget Session 2021-22 at the 7th session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly. The State Government is planning to apply for starting the Kohima Medical College from the academic year 2022-23 to the National Medical Commission, added Rio who also holds the finance portfolio.

KOHIMA: Since attaining statehood six decades ago, Nagaland witnessed an iconic moment after the national anthem was played inside the Nagaland Assembly for the first time in February.
According to reports, the national anthem was played before and after the governor s address on the first day of the state s budget session.
The budget session of the Nagaland assembly began on February 12 with an address by Governor RN Ravi.

The resolution was drafted by a seven-member all-party committee which was unanimously constituted two days back The Nagaland Legislative Assembly on Thursday adopted a four-point resolution on decades old Naga political struggle with the 60-member House resolving to work unitedly in facilitating ongoing negotiations for a final solution between the Centre and Naga political groups. The union government has been holding two separate parleys with the Naga negotiators NSCN(IM) since 1997 and Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) comprising of seven groups since 2017.

Nagaland: In a traffic advisory issued by the Kohima Traffic Police it has been stated that the route from Nagaland Legislative Assembly junction to Thizama will be closed for all traffic movement from 17th February till further notice.
As landslides have affected the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Complex, a major rock bolting exercise is to be carried out by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department as a mitigative measure from 17th February 2021 with heavy machineries to be placed on the Thizama road below the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Complex.
