Knoxville Bravo Concert Series Discontinued

The Bravo Concert Series at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center has announced it has held its last performance. Randy Flack with the organization says that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers determined that it was impossible for the series to go on due to the uncertainty with the pandemic, and the need for volunteers to run the sound equipment and work with the performers. “I don’t think anyone other than us realized how much time it takes to work with the groups that come in to perform. Not only the performance in the evening, but the preparation, making sure they have the equipment they need, and then spending an entire day setting the equipment up, the sound check, the extra work behind the scenes that goes on. Without that volunteer assistance, we just decided that we couldn’t go on.”

Knoxville Heritage Community Foundation Offers Recurring Donations

The Knoxville Heritage Community Foundation is a local organization that raises funds for the betterment of the Knoxville community. Over the years, the organization has supported initiatives such as the Grand Theater renovation, outfitting the Knoxville Performing Arts Center, restoration efforts at Ken Locke Stadium, and more. President Dylan Morse says that setting up a recurring donation through the website is a great way to support local causes. “If you have a passion or a love for the community, whether you live here, grew up here, or something like that, the Heritage Foundation is a great way to give to one organization that gives money to all the organizations in town. You can make your donation go a heck of a lot further by giving to the Heritage Foundation than you might be able to by giving single donations here or there.”
