Two men that were arrested for transporting heroin from Denver, Colorado to Montana were sentenced this week in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan. For the charges of Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance- Heroin, and Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver- Heroin, District Court Judge John Fenn sentenced 25-year-old Robert Kenitzer to 2 ½ to 4 years in prison, suspended in lieu of a 300 day split-sentence and three years of supervised probation. Kenitzer was given 194 days of credit for time served and ordered to pay $1,075 in various court costs and attorney fees.
Judge Fenn sentenced 26-year-old David Osteen to 4 to 7 years in prison for the charges of Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance- Heroin, and Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver- Heroin. The prison sentence is suspended in lieu of three years of supervised probation. Osteen was ordered to pay $985 in various court costs and attorney fees.

Pretrial Conference Continued
District Court Judge John Fenn granted the motion because of a transition in the Public Defender’s Office that caused a recent change in defense counsel for Reuter. Judge Fenn said that a date for the pretrial conference would be set by the Court soon.
Reuter is scheduled to stand trial February 8 for the charge of Sexual Exploitation of Children- Possession of Child Pornography. According to court documents, Reuter was arrested August 2nd of last year by officers with the Sheridan Police Department for having child pornography on his cellular phone. Whether the trial takes place next month remains uncertain at this time, as the Wyoming Supreme Court in November suspended all jury trials in the state until further notice.
An arraignment hearing for 20-year-old Dante Allison was held Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan. Allison, on November 30, was charged with two felonies, Delivery of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana, and Taking a Controlled Substance into Jail. Allison pleaded “not guilty” to both of the charges at the arraignment.
District Court Judge John Fenn set the three day jury trial for May 24 and scheduled a pretrial conference for April 15 at 9:30 am. Judge Fenn also modified Allison’s bond to a high level of drug and alcohol testing at the Sheridan County Justice Office. If convicted on both counts, Allison faces up to 13 years in prison and fines of up to $13,000.
Change of Plea
In November of 2019, Glenn Murphy was arrested and charged with three felonies after selling drugs to a confidential informant. Murphy was charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance- Methamphetamine; Possession of a Controlled Substance- Methamphetamine and Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana.
According to court documents, in October of 2019, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation became aware of Murphy distributing methamphetamine in the Sheridan area. At a change of plea hearing Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court, Murphy, pursuant to a plea agreement reached with the State, pleaded “guilty” to the delivery charge. In exchange for the guilty plea, the State agreed to dismiss the two possession charges as part of the plea deal. The plea agreement recommends a sentence of 2 ½ to 4 years in prison, suspended, in lieu of three years of supervised probation.
