From last Monday (May 17), children’s play areas were allowed to re-open as lockdown restrictions eased. One venue which has re-opened is My Little Place, on St Mary’s Wynd in Hexham. The recreation unit offers role play scenarios for young children and also has a café. The centre, which is split into various rooms, is aimed at children up to the age of seven. It opened in 2019 in the former Northumberland College building. Yvonne Black, supervisor at the centre, said they are “absolutely thrilled to be open again”. “It’s just so wonderful to be back and see the children and their happy and smiling faces,” she said.
