Northern Neck Electric Cooperative recognized for restoration efforts by local and state officials
Warsaw, Virginia – May 14, 2021 – At the May 13, 2021 meeting of the Northumberland County Board of Supervisors, NNEC received recognition for its restoration efforts in the wake of the EF2 tornado that impacted the Lottsburg and Callao area in Northumberland County on May 3, 2021.
The Northumberland County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution unanimously recognizing the work of many organizations, including NNEC, for their efforts in the aftermath of the storm.
Delegate Margaret Ransone, representing Virginia’s 99th House of Delegates District, presented a Commonwealth of Virginia flag that was flown over the Capitol to the lineworkers of NNEC. Brad Hicks, president and CEO, and Bobby Franklin, line superintendent, accepted the flag on their behalf. Del. The Northumberland County Board of Supervisors is looking for additional members to join the newly-formed County Anti-litter Committee. According to the Rappahannock Record the committee’s goal is to promote the cause of a cleaner, more attractive community through litter control and recycling. The Board is looking for a member from District 5 along with 2 at-large members. If you are interested in serving contact board liaison Stuart McKenzie. The committee meets on the 4th Wednesday of the month.
