The gunfire happened about 11:30 p.m. in the Canal Park 3 apartments in the 600 block of Canal Park on the city’s South Side. A man and a woman were dead in a ground-floor apartment, Houck said just before 2 a.m. Wednesday. A 63-year-old woman in an adjoining apartment suffered a leg wound, was treated at an hospital, Houck said, and released. While Houck wouldn’t classify her wounding as an accident, he said she was not an intended victim. It’s possible a bullet came through a wall.
