HP Elite Dragonfly gets Intel 11th Gen and adds new Max edition for those stuck in meetings

HP is refreshing its premium Elite Dragonfly business laptops for CES 2021. Besides the new G2 edition, HP has a new Max model with a 5MP webcam for collaborators. The laptops Intel 11th Gen with vPro tech and AI enhancements. Both editions ship in late January. The HP Elite Dragonfly landed in early 2020 as a cross between its premium consumer Spectre series and the more business-focused EliteBook line. With a dramatic blue color, 2-in-1 design, optional LTE, and all the enterprise features, it piqued our interest. For 2021, HP is giving its customers an official Gen 2 (there have been some minor revisions already) and a new Max edition that is aimed at those who need a robust multi-media notebook for work.

HP EliteBook x360 1040 G7 review: Thinner, lighter, but still shy of greatness

Source: Daniel Rubino / Windows Central Business laptops are different from consumer and prosumer models, but those lines have blurred over the last few years. The EliteBook line, specifically the 1000 series, is HP s range of premium enterprise-level Ultrabooks that compete with Dell s Latitude and Lenovo s famous ThinkPad line. The HP EliteBook x360 1040 G7 is, as the name implies, the seventh generation of this 14-inch convertible PC. It supports inking, optional 4G LTE, multiple display configurations, and a bevy of enterprise-ready security software. I ve always been a fan of the EliteBook x360 1040, so being able to use the G7 with built in 4G LTE for the last month has been a blast. There s a lot to like here, but HP can also improve a few things for next year s G8 model. Still, if I had to take one laptop with me, the EliteBook x360 1040 would be at the top of my list due to its robustness.

HP Spectre x360 14 First Impressions

HP Spectre x360 14 First Impressions I have been waiting for this day for years: With the new Spectre x360 14, HP has finally embraced 3:2 displays in one of its very best products. And I mean that literally: Every time I huddle with my friends at HP, I bring up the need for 3:2 displays in productivity-focused PCs, especially those that support multitouch (which is pretty much all of them now), smartpens (many of them), and convertible designs (which, for HP, is a huge segment of their lineup, and a real differentiator). HP hasn’t so much pushed back against this idea as it has pragmatically argued over the years that 3:2 display panels are still rare and expensive. And collectively, there’s an understanding that even 16:10 displays are a step in the right direction and away from the 16:9 displays that inexcusably still dominate despite them being optimized for entertainment, not productivity.

HP Takes Us One Step Closer to a Virtual Tomorrow | Emerging Tech

); //]]>// >By Rob Enderle Oct 5, 2020 4:00 AM PT The benefit of video conferencing, particularly during this COVID-19 pandemic, is not having to leave home. Unless you have people bringing the virus into your house, the odds of catching the virus fall if you can cut down on going to the office or schools and stay off of planes and public transportation. But even with the best tools, you still don t have that same feeling of being there and still are disadvantaged against those who take the risks of going to the meeting or event venue. Virtual reality (VR) held the promise of merely putting on a headset, along with everyone else, and meeting in a virtual world where you could manipulate, in simulation. Now, HP has taken a considerable step to usher us to a future where we really can mostly exist in a virtual, rather than real, office environment; and not only get more done, but be safer as well.
