Hyderabad: An analysis done by some of the city’s doctors from Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences and Gandhi Hospital has found that Vitamin D could battle Covid better.
Vitamin D provided in the right proportions among patients has decreased the inflammatory markers associated with Covid without any side effects, according to the research. The researchers thus say that Vitamin D therapy could be added to the existing treatment rules of Covid for improved results.

Yoga teacher Ramdev on Friday released a research paper on what he called the first evidence-based medicine for COVID-19 by Patanjali - Coronil in presence of Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Ramdev said that the research paper would clear all suspicions related to Coronil, which Patanjali says is an ayurvedic medicine for Covid. When we launched Coronil, people raised questions on its validity and asked if we followed scientific parameters. People think research can only happen in foreign countries. With this research, we have cleared all suspicions about Coronil, he said, according to news agency ANI.

Hyderabad: Two postgraduate doctor, one each at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences and the Chest Hospital, contracted Covid-19 20 days after taking the first dose of vaccination against the disease.
Both doctors work in the intensive care unit in the pulmonary departments. The doctors were wearing personal protection kits and following safety protocols while at the hospital, their seniors said.

Hyderabad: A surge in colon cancer cases in the city over the last two years has left doctors worried. Not only are they seeing more cases, but they are also seeing increased incidence among the youth.
Dr N. Jayalatha, director of MNJ hospital told the Times of India, “We saw three cases of 35-year-olds with colon cancer last month, indicating that the young are not being spared. While the exact cause for the cancer is unknown, a combination of factors like consuming spicy and outside food, consuming tinned food and beverages, excessive consumption of red meat, alcohol and the presence of pesticide residue in agriculture produce are responsible.”
