Hyderabad, May 27 : Junior doctors in government-run hospitals across Telangana on Thursday night called off their strike.
The junior doctors, who had been on strike since Wednesday morning, resumed duties from 9 p.m. on Thursday.
The Telangana Junior Doctors Association (TJUDA) announced that they are calling off the strike keeping in view patients health as their first priority and their responsibility to serve them in present pandemic crisis.
The Association, which held talks with Principal Secretary, Medical and Health, and Director of Medical Education, thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and health authorities for addressing stipend hike and also allocation of beds for doctors and their family members in the Nizam s Institute of Med
‘Govt. clearance to 11 firms to increase production’
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G. Kishan Reddy said on Thursday that all necessary steps were being taken to ensure the drug to treat Mucormycosis or Black Fungus, Amphoterisan B, was easily available for patients with three lakh vials made available this month and another three lakh vials expected next month.
“The government has also given all clearances to 11 firms to increase the production of the medicine and soon private hospitals will also be provided the same to treat patients in their facilities. We should understand that till a few months ago these were rare cases and medicines too, were produced accordingly,” he explained.
