Amit Shah launches Ayushman CAPF scheme for 28 lakh central force personnel
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday launched the Ayushman CAPF plan, extending the healthcare benefits of the Central health insurance scheme to the seven Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and their dependents.
During a function at the CRPF Group Centre at Amingaon in Guwahati, the Home Minister distributed Ayushman CAPF health cards among seven personnel from the seven different CAPFs.
Under the Ayushman CAPF scheme, around 28 lakh personnel from seven CAPFs Central Reserve Police Force, Assam Rifles, National Security Guard, Border Security Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Sashastra Seema Bal and their families would be covered by the Ayushman Bharat: Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY).

Guwahati/Agartala, Jan 16 : The eight northeastern states joined the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive on Saturday with thousands of frontline health workers across hundreds of centres getting inoculated for the infection.
Chief Ministers and Health Ministers of northeastern states formally rolled out the vaccination programme in the state capitals whereas senior health officials especially of the National Health Mission (NHM) have been constantly monitoring the inoculation drive and registering the necessary data in the Covid Vaccine Intelligence Network (CoWIN) platform.

SILCHAR: Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal along with Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and state BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass welcomed BJP national president JP Nadda at Silchar Aiport on January 11.
The national leader is on a two-day tour in Assam will address a public meeting in Silchar and is said to attend number of other party programmes.
Taking to his Twitter handle, CM Sonowal wrote, Adaraniya @JPNadda ji, we promise that under PM @narendramodi ji s leadership and your presidentship, each and every karyakarta will put their best to further strengthen the nationalist power in Assam & the entire NE.

Old political alliances are being overhauled and new ones are being forged in poll-bound Assam. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to replace the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), one of its two regional allies, with the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), in areas under the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) for the upcoming Assembly elections.
The State BJP confirmed the change of allies around the time the newly-formed Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) and Raijor Dal found a common ground opposition to the Citizenship (Amendment) Act to get closer to a pre-poll tie-up.
The AJP evolved from the same student organisations as the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), the BJP’s other regional ally, 35 years apart.

Guwahati, Dec 31 : Amid protests by the Opposition legislators, the Assam Assembly passed the Assam Repealing Bill 2020, that seeks to abolish the Assam Madrassa Education (Provincialisation) Act, 1995 and the Assam Madrassa Education (Provincialisation of Services of Employees and Re-Organisation of Madrassa Educational Institutions) Act, 2018, on the last day of the three-day winter session on Wednesday.
Assam Education and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who introduced the bill on Monday, said that bill was brought to make the academic environment of the state as secular .
