Officials are investigating a fatal shooting that took place outside of an apartment complex in Dania Beach Saturday evening.
According to the Broward Sheriff s Office, deputies responded to the scene at 321 East Sheridan Street around 10:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, they discovered a woman lying on the ground suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
The woman was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A man found with a gunshot wound early Wednesday morning in downtown Hollywood has died, police confirmed.
Hollywood police say they were called out to the 1900 block of Hollywood Boulevard around 4 a.m. The victim, whose name has not been released, was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he died.
Police spent hours Wednesday morning investigating at the scene, placing evidence markers on Hollywood Boulevard near South 19th Avenue.
They focused their efforts on the sidewalk in front of a vacant storefront near restaurants and other stores in the downtown shopping area.

Hollywood police say they are looking for a man that was last seen leaving the area where a deadly shooting took place early Wednesday.
Authorities say security cameras captured the man leaving the 1900 block of Hollywood Boulevard after a shooting took place. They say they d like to speak to him regarding the incident.
Deputies responded to reports of a shooting just after 4:00 a.m., according to the Hollywood Police Department.

A West Routt Fire Protection District engine rolled down an embankment Saturday night after leaving the scene of a fire.
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS A crew of West Routt Fire Protection District firefighters were injured in an engine rollover Saturday evening. The crash occurred as the crew was returning to the station after extinguishing a structure fire at Canyon Valley Ranch.
The engine they were traveling in went off the edge of Valley Drive, which was steep and icy. The vehicle rolled several times and came to rest approximately 150 to 200 feet down a steep embankment.
