The Crisis Centre of North Bay will take over operations at the city’s low barrier shelter May 1.
Mark King, chairman of the District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board, told The Nugget the news Wednesday morning after the board received a surprise $2.6- million infusion for the emergency shelter from the province.

“This puts us in a better spot as we’ve had a close relationship with the crisis centre. They’ve been on the ground with us since the beginning dealing with the overflow process and they understand how accommodations are handled.
