On Monday 24 May, Abigail Conway’s The Candle Project opens at The Spire in Kemptown. An ancient ritual for our times, participants can make their own candle with a message inside, to be added to a large installation. At the end of the week, a spectacular livestreamed lighting ceremony will feature soundscapes with contributions from local choirs.
Robot Selfie arrives in Brighton on Friday 28 May. At Greater Brighton Metropolitan College, a wall drawing robot will create a giant mural on an outside wall, using selfies which can be submitted by members of the public from Wednesday 26 May.

A new PBS travel series hosted by Emmy-nominated Irish tenor Michael Londra will feature the island of Ireland and its music.Â
The new six-part series âIreland with Michaelâ premieres on PBS this month.
Set amid stunning Irish scenery, the series will tell the story of Ireland through the eyes and hearts of its greatest assets - its creators, painters, singers, dancers and storytellers.
28 Apr 2021 : Nathan Griffin Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones in Normal People. The nominations for the 2021 BAFTA Television Awards have been announced with Element Pictures BBC Three hit series Normal People picking up seven nominations.
The Sally Rooney-adaptation earned a nomination for Best Mini-Series, while leading actors Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones were nominated in the Lead Actor and Lead Actress categories.
Oscar-nominated Irish director Lenny Abrahamson was also nominated for Best Director - Fiction for his work on the 12-part series.
Normal People also saw three craft nomination for Irish crew including Susie Lavelle; Best Photography and Lighting, Nathan Nugent; Best Editing - Fiction, and Niall O Sullivan, Steve Fanagan, and Niall Brady; Best Sound - Fiction.
Datalex, the travel retail software provider to airlines, is understood to be planning to approach the market for more than â¬25 million of equity in June, as it seeks to raise funding ahead of a deadline later this year to repay loans from businessman Dermot Desmond.
The company may end up seeking to raise as much as â¬30 million in a share sale in order to ensure it has enough working capital, according to market sources.
Datalex, whose business was hit by the Covid-19 crisis last year as it sought to get over an accounting scandal that emerged in 2019, saw Mr Desmond extend the term of â¬11.3 million of loans, extended the previous year, by 12 months to November 2021.
