Manhunt Underway After Abandoned Toddler Found Dead
Investigators are searching for North Carolina native James Harrison after his 2-year-old daughter was found dead and his 7-year-old stepson wandering alone after being abandoned in Mississippi. WLBT s David Kenney reports.

(WLBT/NBC News) Mississippi authorities are searching for a North Carolina man accused of abandoning two children over the weekend, resulting in the death of his 2-year-old daughter.
Investigators say James Harrison of Salisbury, North Carolina was traveling on Interstate 20 with his family Thursday when his wife, Amy Harrison, exited the vehicle during an argument and called a friend to pick her up.

Amy Harrison faces several child neglect charges after investigators say her little girl died, likely from hypothermia.
Deputies say this tragedy unfolded Thursday, January 21 along I-20 as James and Amy Harrison of North Carolina traveled through Mississippi.
A 7-year-old boy from a previous relationship and the coupleâs 2-year-old daughter were inside the vehicle when an argument broke out between the couple, deputies say.
Bus fire leads to traffic woes on I-20 in Newton
Mechanical problems led to a fire on a transit bus this afternoon that initially shut all lanes and backed up traffic on I-20 eastbound in Newton County.
No serious injuries were reported in the incident, which began Saturday about 3 p.m. near mile marker 86 before the Almon Road exit, according to GDOT and the Newton County Sheriff s Office.
GDOT expected eastbound I-20 traffic to be affected through at least 8:15 p.m.
Helicopter, K-9s joined in search for missing Newton boy found safe
COVINGTON, Ga. A boy was found safe late Friday about four hours after going missing in eastern Newton and a search that included a state helicopter, K-9 units from neighboring counties and the county sheriff s office and firefighters.
The 11-year-old reportedly went missing about 7:30 p.m. Friday from Ewing Drive and was reported to Newton County Sheriff s Office about 40 minutes later.
Newton County deputies and a K-9 Unit, as well as two K-9 Units from bordering counties and the Newton County Fire Service, responded to the call, said sheriff s spokeswoman Caitlin Jett.
