09:00 | Lima, Dec. 10. The Permanent Missions of Peru and Colombia with the support of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) have organized the virtual event Corruption in the Time of COVID-19: A Double Threat to commemorate the International Anti-Corruption Day.
The event featured United Nations General Assembly President Volkan Bozkir, who referred to the challenges that the fight against corruption poses in this context of pandemic.
Peru s Permanent Representative to the UN Nestor Popolizio stressed the country s interest in the next concise political declaration aimed at the actions to be adopted at the UNGASS 2021, which will provide the opportunity to strengthen and analyze the gaps in the Merida Convention as well as its efficient implementation through cooperation.
