Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A community event will emerge next month following its pandemic hiatus. As a matter of fact, it may be the largest community gathering since the vaccination clinics. It s the Juneau Maritime Festival put on by the Juneau Economic Development Council.  Executive Director Brian Holst said on Action Line that it is set for Saturday, June 19. Holst said the steering committee that organizes the festival met with the CBJ Emergency Operations Center personnel who weigh COVID concerns and gave the green light to proceed. Holst said the festival will be staged in a different area this time.  It will be held in deck over area built over the last year.
